We are currently looking to add to our team a Personal Insurance Account Manager at Hickok & Boardman Insurance Group, an Acrisure Agency Partner. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Council prospective clients for the purpose of examining current coverage and determining insurance needs.
  • Prepare quotes for customers and prospects.
  • Anticipate future needs for established client to renew and upgrade accounts.
  • Handle phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance and policy changes, council on coverage gaps, recommend any changes in coverage that appear necessary or desirable, account round, and comply with requests.
  • Update computer for cancellations and reinstatements. Obtain reason for cancellation and document system. Input past due notices into activities.
  • Prepare personal lines renewal applications or issue renewals as required, includes processing on agency management system.
  • Underwrite new and renewal business, including documentation such as MVRs, loss history, inspection reports, appraisals, ITVs, etc.
  • Ensure complete company submission of application(s) photos, appraisals, etc., for policy issuance.
  • Input customer applications into the agency management system from the carrier rating applications.
  • Maintain a suspense system to follow up on outstanding orders, correspondence, reports and follow up on overdue and suspense items.
  • Attend all Personal Lines meetings as required.
  • Scanning, attaching, and download retrieval on a daily basis.
  • Provide backup assistance when a co-worker is out.
  • Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines.
  • Promote agency and insurance industry in the community.
  • Develop positive long-term relationships with clients, underwriters and company personnel.
Miscellaneous:
  • Actively pursue relevant CE courses and achievement of a designation by the end of year three.
  • Participate in seminars and other training for knowledge and skill development.
  • Some training of other employees may be required.
  • Provide backup in other areas as assigned.
  • Perform other duties and special projects at Management’s request.
  • Help develop efficiencies in automation in a paperless environment reducing or eliminating paper flow.
  • Stay abreast of trends, products, pricing, and competitive markets. Have working knowledge of all agency and company changes procedures.

Education and/or Experience:
  • High School Diploma or the recognized equivalent is required
  • 2 years’ experience in Commercial Property & Casualty Insurance preferred
  • Must be willing to secure Vermont Property & Casualty Insurance Producer’s License
Technology Skills:
  • Possess strong administrative and computing skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Applied Epic Agency Management experience preferred but not required.
Other Qualifications:
  • Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail, respond to multiple requests effectively and to delegate work efficiently to support staff.
  • Must have the ability to read, understand, and interpret policy language, change requests, claims, loss experiences and quotes.
  • Must have the skills to orally and in writing communicate issues, requests, and general information clearly to all involved parties as needed.

  • Demonstrates excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Attention to detail and commitment to a high level of accuracy
