What we’re looking for:

We are seeking a full-time Property Accountant to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. As a Property Accountant at Ackermann Group, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing accounting, reporting, and ad hoc projects for commercial and multi-family real estate assets and investors
  • Monitoring and reporting on day-to-day accounting and financial transaction processed related to residential and commercial property management 
  • General ledger maintenance, including preparing and posting journal entries and cash receipts, identifying and correcting errors in coding or booking
  • Timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities 
  • Monthly account reconciliations for cash, receivables, payables, accruals, and lender obligations
  • Proactively communicating results and supporting property management teams and corporate office stage
  • Researching variance reports accordingly 
  • Escrow and cash flow management 

 The ideal Property Accountant will have: 

  • A BBA or BS in Accounting or Finance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
  • Experience with Property Management accounting software (i.e. Yardi) and QuickBooks is a plus
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills 
  • The ability to act as a team player through interaction and collaboration with individuals in all areas of the company 
  • Deadline orientation and ability to keep processes on time with communication with supervisor 
  • Self-motivation, attention to detail, and ability to adapt to and move with change
  • Ability to think, analyze, and operate independently 
  • Strong problem solving and strategic thinking skills
