Overview:
The Marketplace Analyst plays a pivotal role in analyzing market trends, competitor strategies, and customer behavior to optimize performance within an online marketplace environment. This position requires a blend of analytical prowess, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the dynamics of online marketplaces. The Marketplace Analyst will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-informed decisions and enhance the overall marketplace experience for both buyers and sellers.
Duties:
1. Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, competitive landscapes, and opportunities for growth.
2. Analyze marketplace performance metrics including sales data, customer feedback, and seller behavior to identify areas for improvement.
3. Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and presentations to communicate key insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
4. Collaborate with product development teams to identify and prioritize features and enhancements that drive marketplace growth and improve user experience.
5. Monitor pricing strategies, inventory levels, and promotional activities to optimize product assortment and pricing competitiveness.
6. Work closely with marketing teams to develop targeted campaigns and promotions that drive traffic and increase conversion rates.
7. Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes affecting online marketplaces.
Skills:
1. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
2. Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques such as SQL, Excel, and statistical software.
3. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings and recommendations to diverse audiences.
4. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to drive continuous improvement in marketplace performance.

7. Familiarity with online marketplace platforms and ecommerce dynamics is preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, marketing, statistics, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in market research, data analysis, or business intelligence roles.
- Experience working with online marketplace platforms such as Amazon, eBay, or Etsy is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Certification in data analysis or market research is a plus.
Experience:
3-5 years of experience with increasing responsibility in market analysis or ecommerce roles.
