OVERVIEW

Coordinates, manages and provides direct care in the agency's OBOT treatment program for individuals with opioid use disorders and their families, including the mobile unit.

Work is performed under general supervision and is guided by agency policies and procedures, state and judicial regulations, quality assurance, public and private payor guidelines, diagnostic guidelines and professional practices and including ethical standards related to client interactions, state and federal licensure and accreditation regulations and guidelines.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervises the work of clinical staff treating substance abusive clients at the agency's main clinic and in the mobile unit through review of documentation and provision of at least monthly supervision.
  • Facilitate weekly and monthly staffing meetings for OBOT interdisciplinary team
  • Supports clinical staff in development of group curricula and interventions utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Oversee financial budget including monitoring of all funding grants, fee collection procedures, and reviewing staff requisitions.
  • Plans treatment schedule, assigns caseloads and approves staff schedules and leave.
  • Acts as liaison with community officials, groups, other agencies regarding program activities.
  • Provides direct care to individuals and conducts diagnostic assessments, obtains collateral data, develops diagnosis and treatment plans, conducts group, individual and family therapy sessions.
  • Provides case management and crisis intervention services as necessary.
  • Prepares and reviews client progress notes, other records and reports.
  • Conduct chart audits to ensure documentation compliance within the program.
  • Consults with representatives of other agencies or programs regarding agency OBOT programming and maintains relevant contracts.
  • Identifies program gaps and pursues solutions, including grant funding and increasing access to services.
  • Provides training to community agencies on issues related to opioid use treatment.
  • Develops, maintains and analyzes appropriate evaluation methodologies for program evaluation.
  • Oversees collection and submission of GPRA surveys for SOR grant.
  • Develops and coordinates outreach efforts to educate high-risk populations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Extensive knowledge of individual, family and group treatment theories and techniques relating to individuals with opioid use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health disorders;
  • thorough knowledge of medical providers, social services and other agencies and community organizations providing services to people with substance use disorders and co-occurring behavioral health disorders;
  • thorough knowledge of individuals mandated to treatment; ability to supervise, evaluate and coordinate the work of an interdisciplinary team;
  • ability to establish and maintain rapport with the individual population; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff of other private and public agencies and organizations;
  • ability to plan the work of, train, supervise and evaluate clinical and administrative subordinates; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
  • ability to operate a vehicle; ability to function calmly in stressful situations; ability to prepare and maintain detailed records and prepare related reports;
  • ability to confidently provide expert testimony in both oral and written formats; ability to develop and conduct training programs for clinical staff;

ability to conduct effective interviews, observe, assess and record individual behaviors and functioning and develop treatment and service plans.

TYPICAL EDUCATION, TRAINING AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Master's degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or related Behavioral Sciences field and extensive clinical work experience and supervisory experience in the treatment of those impacted by substance use disorders and co-occurring disorders.
