Summer Program Director
Stipened: $4,250
Temporary, Part Time (0-30 hours) - June 16, 2024 - August 24, 2024
Pre-Planning; As needed
Week 1: Orientation
Week 2-week 7: Summer Program (Monday-Thursday) July 8 – August 15, 2024. 8:15a-2:45p
Post Program: As needed
The Summer Program Director is responsible for planning, supervision & coordination of a 6-week summer program for youth that have functional differences. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
PRE-PLANNING
- Assist Therapeutic Recreation & Leisure Services management with development of orientation training for counselors.
- Research & coordination of supply orders.
- Coordinate development & planning of Summer Program Activities, field trips and calendar of events to be sent home with participants.
DURING PROGRAM
- Providing day-to-day supervision and oversight of staff, activities & participants.
- Ensuring that staff receive appropriate training and orientation for their positions.
- Ensuring compliance with all safeguards for participants.
- Ensuring that daily attendance & required documentation is completed in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Handling and/or responding to behavioral issues and intervening as appropriate which may include determination of an individual's suspension/termination from program.
- Responsible for addressing and reporting all incidents, accidents, observed and suspected situations that adversely impact on the health and safety of individuals receiving services.
- Complete performance evaluations on each team leader.
- Responsible for complying with all Part 635, Part 671, Part 624, and Part 633 regulations in total and reporting violations, deficiencies, and/or incidents to direct supervisor as they are discovered or indicated.
- Ordering of supplies within budgetary guidelines and being responsible for the handling of petty cash.
FOLLOW UP RESPONSIBILITIES
- Preparation & submission of a final report.
- Assist with organization & submission of billing data.
- Assist with participant and staff surveys directly following the end of program.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in human services, recreation, or related field and two years of full-time experience working with individuals that have functional differences.
- A valid driver’s license and good driving record acceptable to the Agency’s insurance carrier.
- Candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Pass and maintain OPWDD Certification in CPR, First Aid and SCIP (provided by agency, if not already certified)
