Description

The Achievement Centers is looking to hire a Bus Driver/Custodian. 
This is a FULL TIME POSITION (CDL REQUIRED)Passenger endoresment a must RATE IS $23 - $25 per hour. Guaranteed 40 hours per week

Responsible for the safe transportation of children to and from school and various enrichment programs, adhering to a predetermined route and schedule. Ensures compliance with traffic regulations, prioritizing the safety of children during loading, unloading, and transportation. Provides instructions on safety measures to students and monitors their behavior, promptly reporting any issues to the supervisor. Maintains operational records, reports vehicle defects, and upholds a clean and organized environment. Additionally, fulfills custodial duties by cleaning, stocking, and maintaining designated facility areas, and documenting routine cleaning and sanitization. The role contributes to fostering a clean and secure physical environment for all youth on the Nancy K. Hurd Campus. Performs any related tasks as required. 

Requirements

Duties & Responsibilities 

· Drivers should be courteous and respectful of children at all times providing service in a friendly and supportive manner. Transport children from public schools as assigned by the schedule and operate the buses in a safe, approved manner. Provide transport for assigned field trips and in other instances when requested by the immediate supervisor, Assistant Director, or an authorized supervisor.

· Maintain a moving violation-free personal and professional driving record and be prepared to have this record checked on a regularly scheduled basis.

· Keep the vehicles in proper working order at all times. Take buses to approved dealerships or vendors to have safety, maintenance, and repairs done; maintain proper records of all work and inspections. When appropriate, have estimates submitted to supervising personnel for approval; have work completed on a timely basis arranging the schedule for the least interference to Center use of buses.

· Keep vehicles properly fueled at approved stations and follow procedures for payment of same. Make note of and recommend repairs or maintenance not normally scheduled but needing attention. Secure approval for all costs and work.

· Perform a daily safety check of buses before transporting children. This should include all mechanical parts, tires, mirrors, horns, windshield wipers, brakes, doors, seats, and windows; never use a vehicle that is not in proper working order. Maintain and update Transportation/fleet-related documentation including Fleet Mileage Logs, Pre-Trip inspection Forms, Vehicle Maintenance and Service Request Sheets, Incident/Accent Forms, and Cleaning Logs.

· In most instances, the driver should work with the adult assistant assigned to the bus to see that all phases of the transportation are conducted safely. This includes boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring children remain seated during travel, encouraging reasonable conduct on the bus, filling out attendance sheets for all transported children, signing children into the Centers after pickup and delivery, and clearing the bus after arrival to be certain that all have exited.

· Keep a First Aid kit and all emergency equipment and supplies on the bus in proper order. Replace the same if necessary after approval from the supervisor.

· Be familiar with and strictly adhere to all Center policies regarding the use, operation, maintenance, and repair of the buses.

· Keep the buses clean both inside and out. The interior of the bus should be cleaned daily of litter, spills, and dirt. Windshields should be clean at all times; windows both inside and out should be checked daily.

· Buses should be parked in approved locations and secured against theft in an approved manner. Any vandalism should be immediately reported to the supervisor and proper authorities.

· Document any incidents of an unusual or emergency nature. 

· Remain flexible regarding transport schedules and assist the Center in covering all the varied needs of the program and children.

· Assist Center personnel in case of any emergencies, disaster, or bad weather concerns.

· Assist with supply pick-up and special event support for all programs.

· Attend training or education sessions/courses as necessary to keep skill levels at peak performance and to stay informed of Rules and regulations related to transport and vehicle operation. 

· Drivers will be counted in the staff-to-child ratio on field trips and off-site special events. Drivers will be assigned to help support a designated ACCF Program on trips and events off campus.

· Follow all health and safety regulations

· Clean all buildings on the Hurd Campus (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, etc.) in accordance with the ACCF cleaning schedule

· Stock and supply all buildings with paper products, soap, and other designated materials as needed

· Stock and maintain supply rooms

· Perform and document routine inspection and completion of custodial activities

· Completion of more in-depth cleaning tasks and special projects as needed

· Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
