POSITION TITLE: EMPLOYMENT COACH II

DEPARTMENT: EMPLOYMENT SERVICES

REPORTS TO: EMPLOYMENT SERVICES MANAGER

GENERAL SUMMARY

The Employment Coach II will guide and assist members with their daily tasks, readiness training, and job preparation. It is the responsibility of the Employment Coach II to assess and monitor members’ performance on their unique skills and on their ability to complete assigned tasks. Employment Coach II is responsible for guiding and redirecting clients in order for them to meet their employment goals and objectives. The Employment Coach II will track members’ employment progress and provide ongoing services/support necessary for member to maintain and succeed in the workplace.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

·Attends and participates in Individual Service Plan (ISP) meetings and reviews for clients, when required.

·Monitors and tracks client progress towards goals and objectives in daily notes, client’s pay, incident reporting, quarterly reports, and Individual Eligibility Evaluation.

oMaintains ongoing communication with Employment Services Team Lead, Manager, and other staff regarding the development of client’s goals and objectives.

oTroubleshoots client attendance/billing discrepancies.

·Possesses a basic understanding of contract compliance requirements and supports the Employment Services Manager with staff training and contract compliance.

·Performs functions of Employment Coach I in the event of their absence, as needed.

·Complete all mandatory trainings and attends all mandatory meetings.

·Other duties as assigned by the Employment Services Manager.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A.Supervision

This position has no supervisory responsibility.

B.Confidentiality

This position is exposed to HIPAA and confidential client information.

C.Mental Application and Responsibility 

Must have the ability to identify essential job tasks.

D.Internal and Public Contacts 

This position must be able to clearly communicate with community contact and with the general public regarding programs and services offered.

E.Conditions and Equipment

This position entails using general office equipment including computers, telephones, fax, and photocopiers.

F.Physical Demands

Must be able to sit and/or walk and stand continually. Must be able to list at least fifty (50) pounds.

ABILITIES

A.Language (Communication)

Must be able to communicate clearly and effective orally and in writing; possess clearly and concise writing skills and excellent time management skills.

B.Mathematical

Must be able to perform basic arithmetic calculations.

C.Reasoning

Critical thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis; ability to demonstrate sensitivity and awareness of individuals with disabilities.

D.Other

Must have the ability to project professionalism and amiability as an Agency representative. Behavioral management skills required.

QUALIFICATIONS

A.Education:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

B.Experience:

At least one (1) year experience working with individuals with disabilities or in social services preferred.

C.Other:

Must be over 21 years of age.

Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Must be able to obtain valid certifications for Agency compliance within 90-days of employment.

Pass background check inclusive of Excluded Provider List System (EPLS) and the Health and Human Services (HHS) List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).

DRUG-FREE WORK ENVIRONMENT

HIPAA

Under the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and its implementing regulations, a Covered Entity under HIPAA is legally obligated to maintain the privacy of client health information that it creates or receives. The Agency recognizes the importance of keeping medical information confidential and is dedicated to meeting the HIPAA obligations. All information that we have about clients we consider to be confidential, and we maintain technical and administrative safeguards to protect against unnecessary use and disclosure of it. We expect our employees to respect our clients’ instructions regarding any incidental exposure to protected health information. We are committed to supporting our clients in their efforts to comply with both state and federal privacy laws.

OSHA

Everyone has the right to a safe workplace. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970 was passed to prevent workers from being seriously harmed at work or killed at work, and the law requires employers to provide their employees with working conditions that are free of known dangers. The Act created the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), which sets and enforces protective workplace safety and health standards which are maintained by the Agency. OSHA also provides information, training and assistance to workers and employers. Workers may file a complaint to have OSHA inspect their workplace if they believe that the Agency is not following OSHA standards or that there are serious hazards in the workplace. An injured worker may undergo a drug screening.
