Position Summary 
Under the guidance of the Clinical Director, BCBA is responsible for the entire life cycle of the applied behavior analytic intervention services and directing the clinical teams, i.e., Registered Behavior Technician and interns. This position orchestrates the provision of clinical services, offers guidance and training, and ensures the quality of the treatment programs. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential functions of a BCBA include but are not limited to the following:
Assessments
  • Assess clients for ABA services using normative/criterion-based assessment(s), e.g., the Vineland, AFLS, ABLLS-R, VB-MAPP and/or other assessment tools as assigned
  • Conduct functional behavioral assessments (FBA) and/or functional analysis assessments
  • Conduct stimulus preference assessments and develop effective reinforcement systems
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Treatment Protocols
  • Implementation of an individualized treatment plan based on ABA principles that increase communication, self-help, social and leisure, home living, functional academics, executive functioning, community access, health & safety, and/or employment skills.
  • Implementation of a behavior intervention plan to address challenging behavior.
  • Construct comprehensive reports, behavior interventions plans (BIP), treatment programs and data collection systems based on assessment outcomes.
  • Monitor and evaluate individualized intervention programs to ensure client progress and to ensure treatment fidelity.
  • Utilize behavior and skill acquisition data to make clinical recommendations for adding or fading treatment services.
  • Confers with the clinical team regularly regarding techniques used, treatment progress, and related matters for the purpose of treatment quality assurance
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Oversight and Training
  • Training ABA Techs, family, staff in intervention program planning, implementation, and evaluation.
  • Be the source of information for the clinical team to provide guidance and direction in the implementation of treatment programs
  • Resolve clinical issues raised by the clinical team
  • Participate in quarter/annual written performance reviews for the purpose of professional development
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Direct Service
  • Consistently and continually build rapport with clients
  • Provide parent coaching/education to allow generalization and maintenance of acquired skills 
  • Resolve clinical concerns raised by clients
  • Implement treatment protocols when necessary
  • Accurately record information on the client's progress.
  • Perform other duties as assigned 
Case Management
  • Obtain and maintain the authorization for assessment and treatment in a timely manner 
  • Coordinate, monitor and maintain timelines for report submission to ensure authorizations for assessment and services
  • Review assessment and progress reports before sending them to the stakeholder for review
  • Present the client’s progress in a live review with the stakeholder
  • Manage and maintain required caseload and to allow for full utilization of billable hours 
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure optimal service provision for all clients 
  • Produce clear, accurate and effective reports, correspondence, and other written materials
  • Participate in monthly clinical meetings with the stakeholder
  • Conducts on-site visits with clients, develops intervention program objectives, reviews treatment data and monitors client progress, make program modifications as needed, provide parent/staff training and education, conduct quarterly developmental assessments, write progress reports, and attend monthly meetings.
  • Keeps client files organized and protect client privacy according to HIPPA regulations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities)
To thrive in this position, BCBA needs to have the following minimum qualifications: 
  • BCBA must have no less than a Master degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education or related field, and a valid certification from the BACB as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Licensed Behavior Specialist (or qualifications to applied for the license within 3 months of hire)
  • Understand the characteristics of a wide range of intellectual disabilities.
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, auto insurance and ability to perform travel assignments. 
  • Valid PA state police background check, FBI Fingerprint, Child abuse clearance and mandated reporting training. 
  • Embody and exemplify a level of professionalism and ACHIEVE’s core values
  • Ability to collaborate with the clinical and administrative team to produce the best outcome for the client
  • Excellent time management and organization skills 
  • Impeccable written and verbal communication skills
