Community Relations Coordinator 

Job Description

Title: AIM Community Relations Coordinator

Work Schedule: 25 - 30 hours a week 

Location: Duval Early Learning Academy

Reports To: Executive Director 

Salary: $25,000 - $35,000

Job Summary: 

The Community Relations (CRC) is responsible for coordinating marketing initiatives through social media, community campaigns and collaboration with local, state and government funders. This role is responsible for the creation and implementation of marketing strategies, managing fiscally focused communication channels with staff and funders, and collaboration with the development team to drive fundraising efforts. The CRC supports AIM’s overall fiscal goals by supporting fundraising activities. 

The CRC will work directly with the ED to track budget, oversee spending and monitor viable allocation of grant funds and may be required to meet with AIM bookkeeper for fiscal updates. CRC will also support AIM fiscal goals through grant data collection and grant writing as necessary. CRC manages volunteers and interns responsible for fiscal management and marketing (Social Media Intern).

This position must demonstrate AIM Values and Skills (Learning, Integrity, Leadership, Community, Teamwork, Effort and Resiliency), knowledge of current trends in social media, marketing and general spending habits of donors per quarter, understanding of underserved/underrepresented communities and serve as a positive role model to all AIM students and the community at large.

Responsibilities: 

Grant Data Collection: 

  • Collect relevant information such as reporting standards, deliverables, and key contract points for all current grants. 
  • Assist with the management of files and data for reporting purposes. 

Grant Writing: 

  • Assist with grant writing on an as needed basis. Writing should display a proficient understanding of the RFP and the project’s goals and objectives.

Social Media Management: 

  • Create and manage AIM social media to drive engagement with the AIM community. Social media should actively engage with followers and push content to grow a following and reach. 

Content Creation:

  • Generate compelling content for various platforms, including website, social media, newsletters, and promotional materials
  • Collaborate with internal teams to gather information and stories that highlight the impact of the organization's work

Marketing Strategy:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans to promote the organization's mission and programs through different modes of communication.
  • Maintain a consistent brand image across various communication channels
  • Utilize digital marketing, social media, email campaigns, and traditional methods to reach target audiences

Donor Relations:

  • Assist the development team in the maintenance and expansion of donor relationships
  •  Assist in the coordination of donor communication, acknowledgment, and recognition efforts
  • Assist in the implementation of strategies to engage donors and keep them informed about the organization's activities

Donor Database Management:

  • Assist with the maintenance of accurate records of donors, contributions, and communication activities using fundraising software
  • Generate reports monthly on donations
  • Manage donor data within customer relationship management (CRM) platform to be current and accurate

Fundraising Support:

  • Work with the development team to support fundraising campaigns and events
  • Coordinate logistics for fundraising events, including planning, promotion, and execution
  • Track and analyze fundraising efforts to assess effectiveness and identify areas for improvement

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, including staff directors, to align marketing efforts with organizational goals
  • Liaise with external partners, vendors, and sponsors to maximize marketing and fundraising opportunities

Supervision 

  • Commit to and model the AIM Mission and Values for all staff, students and families
  • Provide guidance and oversight to social media intern 
  • Communicate and collaborate with other AIM staff members to execute marketing and fundraising initiatives

Relationship Building

  • Support and encourage youth and staff through modeling and daily reflection of AIM values and skills: Learning, Integrity, Leadership, Community, Teamwork, Effort and Resiliency
  • Facilitate relationships between business and foundation relationships
  • Cultivate positive relationships with donors and partners 
  • Establish positive relationships with prospective donors and members of the community to expand linkage to AIM 

Programming:

  • The CRC is responsible for their day-to-day tasks during programming, but will be asked to support AIM efforts as needed (AIM Family events, Board related events, etc) 

Qualifications: 

  • Ability to present a positive image to staff, participants, colleagues, and the community 
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible, and manage multiple priorities. Must be capable of adaptability with daily schedule as well as be organized and plan efficiently
  • High degree of emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills
  • Responsible, dependable, punctual, and initiative taking 
  • A positive attitude and mature personality conducive to working effectively as a team player with diverse members, staff, interns, volunteers, parents/guardians and other stakeholders 
  • Must be able to multitask while maintaining safety for students and staff and conducting daily duties
  • Must be friendly and professional at all times 
  • Must have a strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism 
  • Detail-oriented with excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal and writing skills
  • Valid FL Driver’s License. Must have reliable transportation and be able to drive a car and have appropriate auto insurance coverage 
  • Proficient computer skills, especially using Microsoft Suite and Google Suite of applications
