Acelerex is Hiring a Project Finance Analyst Near Cambridge, MA

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Finance Analyst who has been analyzing power project investments as part of utilities, IPP / developers, investment banks, and/or funds to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling various aspects of project finance analysis, revenue forecasting, cost modeling, and investment reports and detailed reviews of project bill of materials. Acelerex is an independent consultant and software maker company in the power sector.

Job Description:

Position Overview:

As a Project Finance Analyst, you will utilize Acelerex Grid Analytics Platform to perform revenue and cost forecasts and execute complete energy asset valuations, pro-forma modeling, and optimization of transaction structures for developers and investors in the energy space. You will collaborate closely with our cross-functional teams to develop advanced market simulations, dispatch strategies, and investable pro-forma models that our clients require.

Responsibilities:

· Asset Valuation: Prepare detailed pro-forma and discount cash flow models that assist clients in obtaining financing

o Integrate and optimize federal and state incentive structures at the asset level – ITC, PTC, RECs, etc.

o Incorporation of financing structures and tools – cash flow management, debt & equity financing, debt service coverage, tax equity, depreciation, flip out strategies (build-own-operate, build-own-flip, etc.)

· Development Studies: Contribution to qualitative study describing the full investment opportunity of the site – risks, rewards, future regulatory landscape

· Revenue and Cost Modeling: Simulate asset dispatch against market pricing to produce asset-level revenue and cost forecasts on Acelerex Grid Analytics Platform

o Utilize modeling and simulation tools to assess the performance of revenue algorithms and refine them for real-world applications

· Detailed analysis of project bill of materials for cost, suppliers, and supply chain

o Works with engineers to track and version control the bill of materials

· Bid Pricing & Strategy: Develop Request for Proposal (RFP) bidding strategies for developers and investors participating in utility or other offtaker RFPs

· Plan and coordinate project implementations, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to project requirements.

· Documentation of implementation processes and procedures.

· Update and maintain documentation on internal Wiki platforms.

· Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, data scientists, finance professionals, and project managers, to ensure successful implementation of Acelerex products & services.

Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor's or master’s degree in finance, business management, or related field.

Skills:

· Detailed experience with Excel / pro-forma / Power Point Presentations

· Experience with renewables, energy storage, traditional energy generation

· Knowledge of US energy markets

· Familiarity with modeling and simulation tools

· Strong project management & critical thinking skills

· Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills

· Effective communication and teamwork abilities

· Attention to detail and a commitment to quality

Location and Start Date:

The position will be based in the United States but will be fully remote. Acelerex office in Cambridge, MA is available as needed. Immediate availability is preferred.
