Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Dispatcher. As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and scheduling transportation services to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This role requires strong communication skills, the ability to multitask, and a solid understanding of transportation management systems.
Position available for Monday - Saturday, 7:00 am - 7:00 pm
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders for transportation services
- Coordinate with drivers and carriers to schedule pick-up and delivery times
- Utilize phone systems and computer software to track shipments and update information in real-time
- Monitor routes and adjust schedules as needed to optimize efficiency
- Communicate with customers regarding any delays or changes in delivery status
- Collaborate with logistics team to ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulations
- Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
Experience:
- Previous experience in dispatching or transportation management preferred
- Familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information System) software is a plus
- Knowledge of 3PL (Third Party Logistics) operations and freight industry practices
- Proficiency in using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar software
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously
