Job description and required qualifications:

The MA is primarily responsible for triaging patients and administering workflows based on the Provider’s direction. This includes:

• Rooming patients
• Chart prepping prior to seeing their provider. Documenting in the electronic medical record patient vitals, histories, disease specific questionnaires, lab results, etc.
• Follow up on orders from the patients’ provider (Lab, Radiology, Referrals etc.)
• Assure effective interpersonal relations with patients and staff
• Consistently project a pleasant, congenial and sensitive attitude towards patient and staff
• Exhibit a willingness to resolve problems and improve workflow efficiency
• Assist in exam room as needed
• Patient Education Handouts: Give and explain to patient
• Medications: Fill new and refill prescriptions as defined by the provider
• Create and respond to telephone encounters including taking messages from the phone logs
• Other duties as requested

EDUCATION

• High school diploma plus specific training in healthcare

EXPERIENCE

• 1-2 years hands on clinical experience preferably in outpatient setting working directly with physicians and patients.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18 - $21 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 40 per week
