Position Summary
The primary responsibility for all positions with Gust Family Enterprises, Inc. is to Amaze Every Customer Every Time and uphold the Core Values as determined by the management team. The additional responsibility of a Department Lead is to maintain their department according to company standards and help other associates learn about the department as well.

• Providing "legendary" customer service in their department(s) and throughout the store.
• Setting an example for all other team members.
• Maintaining optimum inventory to insure service to our customer, as well as maximum turns and profit.
• Working with management and vendors to ensure a locally and regionally relevant assortment.
• Be aware of, and help all customers in the store, not only in assigned department.
• Merchandising and displays for their assigned area.
• Managing seasonal transitions within the Greenhouse and Lawn & Garden Department.
• Responsible for housekeeping in department (facing, dusting, etc.).
• Ensure that all department merchandise is bin tagged and assigned a shelf location.
• Ensure that all approved security measures are taken in department.
• Responsible for working with Inventory Coordinator and management to address inventory issues.
• Training of assigned store personnel in area(s) of expertise.
• Knowledge of overall store policies, procedures, and goals.
• Ability to motivate and lead fellow team members to provide service in department.
• Attend and participate in store meetings as required.
• Other tasks and responsibilities that may be assigned.

Hourly Rate- $17- 20 per hour

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
● Interest in gardening
● Familiarity with store policies and procedures
● Knowledge of retail computer systems, internet applications
● Ability to direct the work of others
● Minimum of 6 months-1 year of retail experience
● Take initiative, assume responsibility, and execute thoroughly
● CSU Cooperative Extension Master Gardener designation preferred
● Ace Lawn & Garden Badge Required (can complete after receiving position)
● Helpful Ready Certification (can complete after receiving position)
The minimum physical requirements for this position include:
● Ability to stand for an extended period of time, walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties
● Move and handle merchandise up to 40 pounds, and fixtures throughout the store, which entails lifting and perform all functions as set forth
