ACDS, Inc., located in Plainview, Long Island, New York, a respected, well-known non-profit agency, is in search of qualified, talented and dedicated personnel who are interested in joining our team. We are currently seeking an ABA Paraprofessional for our preschool for children with developmental delays. The interested candidate will:

• Work under the direction of the ACDS BCBA.
• Be responsible for providing ABA curriculum instruction to students on the Autism spectrum as well as to children with other developmental disabilities in EI and SED ABA classrooms.
• Be responsible for assisting in the organization of appropriate teaching materials and visual tools specific to each student’s programs and each student’s behavioral needs.
• Assist in the preparation of materials for ABA staff trainings.
• Assist in the construction of student specific ABA instructional program books.
• Provide ongoing support to new employees to ensure continued integrity of instruction in the ABA program at ACDS.
• Assist in assessing student specific reinforcers and preferences to motivate learning and appropriate behavior.
• Assist in classrooms when needed.

Position Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Minimum 1 year experience working with young children on the Autism spectrum or with young children with other developmental disabilities.
• Minimum 1 year experience using the teaching methodology of Applied Behavior Analysis.
• Strong interpersonal skills, ability to follow direction and willingness to learn and take instruction from supervisors.
• Familiarity with the ABLLS curriculum.
