Job Description

SUMMARY:

The Manufacturing Process Capability Engineer engages closely with peers (MFG, QA, ENG) to ensure product and process quality, through effective and efficient process monitoring, trending, and controls. They will be accountable for establishing and implementing a robust manufacturing quality control plan, and will identify, execute and mentor quality improvement projects (DMAIC).

REPORTING TO/DEPARTMENT:

Reports to Manager of Manufacturing Engineering in the Operations Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and own mfg process control plans
  • Defining critical process parameters (CTQ). Setting up in-process measurement systems. Completing GR&R to ensure effectiveness.
  • Setting up process monitoring and trending, including SPC of critical parameters
  • Monitoring process data, analyzing for trends and signals. Apply Six Sigma data analytics to evaluate process capability on an on-going basis. Ensure appropriate response and actions to keep process in control.
  • Lead root cause investigations for trends and events. Drive true corrective and preventive actions
  • Make process quality and capability visible for the broader team

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Preferred or Desired:

  • Six Sigma Blackbelt Certified.
  • Ten years of industry experience.

    Required:

  • BS in Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years industry experience
  • Experience working in a regulated industry, familiarity with Production & Process Control PPC requirements
  • Six Sigma Greenbelt Certified
  • Strong technical skills, knowledge of mfg processes, ability to identify key process control parameters
  • Strong data analytic skills, knowledge of statistical process control (SPC)
  • Hands on, able and willing to roll up sleeve to understand, monitor and improve mfg processes, tests, gages, tools
  • Results oriented, drive and tenacity to deliver results and improvement.
  • Strong influencing skills. Ability to convince people and teams and multiple levels of the organization to take actions. Polished communicator.
  • Solid organizational skills. Able to build, manage and execute a funnel of projects and deliver short and long term results.
  • Coaching, Mentoring Skills. Able to teach principles and mentor projects in a team environment.

Accuray pay ranges vary based on work location. As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Accuray Bonus Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus, as well as annual refresh stock grants.
