Accura Engineering & Consulting Services, Inc. is Hiring a Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist Near Fairbanks, AK

Job Title: Geotechnical Engineer/Geologist
  • Work Location: Fairbanks, AK (Moose Creek Dam)***
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interviewREQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screenTravel and Housing Allowance will be providedDuties/Responsibilities:
  • Provides professional geotechnical engineering and construction management support by performing tasks such as: serves as a general engineer providing professional and technical leadership; guidance, and expertise in managing contractor executed construction projects
  • Serves as the organizational subject matter expert regarding national standards and practices for geotechnical engineering designs as relate dam construction safety renovations
  • Perform inspections and surveillance of construction work to ensure the work is in accordance with the contract and specifications
  • Monitor submittals utilizing a submittal status log
  • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFI)
  • Ensure contractor is adhering to contract and specification requirements
  • Support construction contract modifications
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science Degree; Engineering, Geology
  • 5 years of engineering, construction management, and geological experience, Alaska area preferred
  • Knowledge of soils and geological components for construction of barrier wall embankments
  • Experience with construction administration and capability of handling large civil works projects
  • Knowledge of dam construction and safety modification.
  • Familiar with US Army Corps of Engineers’ processes
  • US Army Corp of Engineering or other federal project experience, preferred
  • Experience with Resident Management System (RMS), preferred
