Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
CEI Inspector - Utilities
A CEI Inspector - Utilities is responsible for monitoring contractor’s work and performing utility inspections and oversight for interstate transportation improvement projects in an urban area.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Ability to read and interpret roadway and structure plans, contract specifications, schedules and quantities
Monitor the contractor’s on-site construction activities, performing inspections, and conducting field material sampling and testing to ensure conformance to project plans and specifications and document process
Prepare daily field reports
Ensure quality assurance is met for project
Meets scheduling and attendance requirements
Understands and interprets schematic drawings
Work on interstate widening project that requires utility monitoring
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
5 years of related work experience in utilities inspection as a part of an interstate improvement project.
Experienced in GDOT manuals, specifications and protocols
Familiar with traffic control plans including but not limited to traffic shifts, detours, lane closures or other activities that disrupt traffic flow
Knowledge of the properties, characteristics, strengths, and weaknesses of the materials used in construction
Valid Driver's license with clean driving record and insurable
Physical Requirements:
Physically mobile in and around construction sites and field assignments
Ability to carry survey instruments and equipment
Should enjoy working outdoors in a variety of weather conditions
Ability to lift 50 pounds
