AccumTech is Hiring a System Administrator Near Ann Arbor, MI

As a System Administrator at AccumTech you will be a part of a team that supports our physical/virtual/cloud infrastructure, domain management, devops, and end user related IT operations. You will work directly with internal teams to document their technology needs and requirements, implement required systems and changes, and manage related audits and reviews. In addition, you will work closely with our development teams to provide support for the creation, implementation, testing, performance, and security of our software as a service offerings.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in creating and implementing bullet proof IT policies and systems and is very knowledgeable of current tools, technologies, and best practices. They will have a solid technical background, be an excellent communicator, and love of taking on new challenges and working closely with teammates to solve complicated problems in an agile environment to help the company meet its objectives and growth expectations.

Some of the key tools and technologies that the IT department supports at AccumTech include: O365, Microsoft Sql Server, Microsoft Service Fabric, RabbitMQ, IbmMQ, Elastic Stack, internal/external website/API hosting, Microsoft Azure, Docker, and Kubernetes.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and support of end user PCs, peripherals, network connectivity, and applications (MS Office, Outlook, Teams)
  • Install, configure, and manage network equipment such as firewalls, routers, switches, and printers
  • Install, configure, and manage physical and virtual server hardware and network environments
  • Manage Active Directory, O365 user accounts, permissions, licenses, email, anti-spam, and anti-virus applications
  • Configure and manage system back-ups, restorations, and disaster recovery operations
  • Contribute to the development, enforcement, and auditing of IT policies and procedures
  • Analyze the business requirements of all departments to determine their technology needs
  • Identify needs for new systems, equipment, licenses and other requirements determined by the business
  • Create system guidelines and manuals for the organization

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field
  • Proven experience as System Administrator or similar role managing and supporting a Microsoft domain environment and office productivity applications
  • Experience in analysis, implementation and evaluation of IT systems and their specifications
  • Up-to-date knowledge of latest IT tools, technologies, and best practices
  • Experience in controlling information technology budget
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills
  • Outstanding communication skills and the ability to explain highly technical concepts in simple terms
  • Ability to lead and teach others
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and take on direct responsibility with a growing company
