Accumold is Hiring an Equipment & Maintenance Technician I - 2nd shift Near Ankeny, IA

We have an exciting opportunity for an Equipment & Maintenance Technician I on 2nd Shift (2pm-10:30pm) to join Accumold’s talented and dedicated team! This position provides support to Accumold maintenance by performing duties to support equipment and machinery in all areas of the facility to maintain production and improvements needed. Shift(s) available:

  • 2nd shift: 2PM-10:30PM Mon-Fri (5% shift differential)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Assists in maintenance of injection molding machines and other manufacturing equipment to achieve the timely production of quality plastic parts. 
  2. Assists and troubleshoots equipment to prevent repairs or breakdowns of production/tooling or building equipment. Completes routine preventive maintenance to equipment as needed.
  3. Communicates the necessary equipment or supplies needed to facilitate the timely installation or repair of equipment to the maintenance staff.
  4. Works with the production staff, toolroom and maintenance staff to facilitate timely completion of tasks as requested. May include duties such as welding, fabricating, rebuilding, overhaul of equipment and other duties as requested. 
  5. Basic wiring and troubleshooting of electrical projects.
  6. Repairs motors, pumps, pneumatic systems, and basic metal fabrication.
  7. Other duties or general labor as required supporting production or office personnel as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  1. Education/Experience. High school education coursework or GED required. Two-year technical degree in manufacturing or industrial technology preferred or equivalent experience and education to equal.
  2. Computer Skills. Ability to operate personal computer. Knowledge of Windows based programs.
  3. Language Skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and utilize instructions and short correspondence with professionals. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to other employees, salespeople or during telephone conversations. 
  4. Mathematical Skills. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to read and understand complicated designs and drawings.
  5. Reasoning Ability. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Use of experience to trouble shoot and problem solve.
  6. Other Skills and Abilities. Willingness to attend conferences, classes or training to enhance and update knowledge and skills.
  7. Supervisory Responsibilities. None
  8. Physical Demands. Frequent movement throughout the facility is required. Duties may involve climbing, bending, stretching or crouching. Dexterity and strength to grasp items is necessary. Normal or corrected to normal vision is required with good color vision and close vision. May be required to move or transport up to 55 lbs.
  9. Work Environment. Most work duties are performed in a climate-controlled environment with few temperature or humidity extremes. Rarely, extreme hot or cold (summer/winter) temperatures are experienced during outside work or work in the Accumold building areas that are not climate controlled. Noise levels will vary from very low to moderate depending on the location, inside or outside, that the work is performed. The noise level in the inside and outside work environment is usually moderate. Employee may have contact with machining residues such as steel chips, grinding dust, EDM smoke, cutting oils and coolants. Safety glasses are required.
