Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for the daily management of the Systems teams, including infrastructure and networking. As a working manager, the Systems Manager will also be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting customers' infrastructure. The Systems Manager is responsible for delivering mission critical infrastructure and ensuring the highest levels of availability, performance and security.

Essential Functions:

• Effectively coach and manage the individual performance of team members

• Manage team resource requirements to ensure appropriate balance between tactical and strategic demands

• Demonstrate leadership and professionalism both internally and externally

• Manage and monitor installed systems and infrastructure

• Install, configure, test and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools

• Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability

• Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with team to implement those fixes

• Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies

• Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower the human intervention time on any tasks

• Participate in the design of information and operational support systems

• Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution

Required Qualifications (This should include any minimum education, work experience, knowledge, & skills necessary to perform the functions of the position):

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field OR 4 years of professional work experience

• 10 years of experience in systems administration, installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows/UNIX/Linux environments

• 5 years of experience in a lead, supervisory or management position

Other Qualifications:

• Experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks

• Cloud experience, preferably in AWS or Azure

• Experience with virtualization and containerization

• Experience with monitoring systems

• Experience with automation software

• Solid scripting skills

• Some networking knowledge
