Financial Planning and Analysis Manager
The Financial Planning and Analysis Manager is responsible for providing management with an analysis and insight of Guardian’s financial results in coordination with the broader accounting team. The overall objective is to contribute to directional strategy as well as utilize in-depth specialty knowledge to provide advice and counsel on the evaluation of financial reports of Guardian’s current and projected performance.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Create financial reports to clearly summarize financial trends and provide insight to senior management
  • Advise on directional strategy and provide guidance on significant business and product decisions
  • Collaboratively evaluate opportunities for business growth and cost control
  • Lead the FP&A efforts on both integration and process improvement projects, in close collaboration with CFO, Controller, and accounting team
  • Execute analysis of annual 3-year Strategic/Operating Plans, CCAR PPNR forecasts, mid-year reforecasts, and bi-monthly outlooks in partnership with CFO
  • Ability to interpret instructions from the CFO, CEO, and other Executive Leadership and making sure Analysts follow them effectively
  • Prepare analytics in support of CEO Reviews, including business initiatives
  • Execute analysis of product profitability and provide guidance on significant business and product decisions
  • Conduct advanced financial analysis including but not limited to income statement, balance sheet, cashflow statement, and capital investment analysis
  • Partner with Senior Leadership to determine likely revenue and expenses
  • Drive continuous improvement and standardization efforts within the finance activity. Understand Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / drivers and measure performance to established metrics.
  • Prioritize initiatives, manage cross functional teams, perform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as required
  • Improve the processes used to create forecasts and analyze historical data
  • Develop and maintain relationships with leadership and senior management to influence behavior and decision making
  • Prepare presentations and analysis for the team supporting the CFO
  • Operate with a limited level of direct supervision
  • Exercise independence of judgement and autonomy
  • Assist in developing month end volume, rate, and mix analysis and provide commentary for stakeholders
  • Partner with Accounting to review and assist in month end close process
  • Act as subject matter expert to senior stakeholders and other team members
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the Company’s reputation and safeguarding Guardian, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency
  • Regular attendance at work and provides appropriate flexibility
  • Adherence to safety guidelines and policies
  • Other job related duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 years of relevant experience with minimum 3 years of experience in Private Equity (PE) backed organization
  • Experience with construction industry financial reviews with the ability to perform complication variance analysis
  • Expert Excel User and proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications and overall computer skills
  • Demonstrated presentation skills for both internal and external stakeholders and at Board level
  • Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • As a condition of employment, employer will conduct a background check and drug screen prior to hire
  • Ability to understand, speak, and write English
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:
  • BA/BS in Business, Finance, or other related discipline
  • MBA, CFA, or CPA preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work is performed in a fast-paced office, attached to a warehouse setting with frequent interruptions. Occasional need to travel to other office locations as necessary.
