As a Buyer/Material Planner, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth flow of materials within our organization. You will be responsible for procuring raw materials, components, and supplies necessary for production or resale, while also managing inventory levels to meet demand and minimize excess stock. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with suppliers and internal teams.
Responsibilities:
· Confers with vendors to obtain product or service information such as price, availability, and delivery schedule.
· Expedites company issued purchase orders to ensure delivery dates comply with schedule requirements.
· Manages PO Confirmation process including reporting pricing and expected delivery discrepancies.
· Prepares purchase orders or bid requests.
· Negotiates best pricing relative to current and forecasted demand on non-inventory materials.
· Must be familiar with purchasing electronic components, chemicals, and consumables.
· Maintains procurement records such as items or services purchased costs, delivery, and vendor performance.
· Maintains vendor managed inventory programs and approves invoices for payment.
· Conducts Inventory counts and issues purchase requisitions in accordance with Min/Max bin location guidelines.
· Expedites delivery of goods to users.

Required Skills:

· Experience in ERP Systems, Procurement.
· Some knowledge of Manufacturing.
· Ability to think critically and problem solving.
· Willingness to seek continuous improvement in processes.
· Strong negotiation skills to effectively collaborate with suppliers.
Required Education, Training or Experience:
Education –
· Post-secondary Associates Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience –
· Excel: 1 year (Required)
· Purchasing: 1 year (Required)
· Inventory: 2 years (Preferred)
· Warehousing: 2 years (Preferred)
