Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Horticulturist to join our team. As a Horticulturist, you will be responsible for maintaining and caring for various plants, gardens, and landscapes. This is a hands-on role that requires knowledge and experience in groundskeeping, landscape maintenance, and plant cultivation.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute horticultural activities such as planting, pruning, fertilizing, and watering
- Maintain and care for plants in gardens, greenhouses, farms, and landscapes
- Monitor plant health and identify and treat diseases or pests
- Design and implement landscape plans to enhance the aesthetic appeal of outdoor spaces
- Operate hand tools and power tools to perform necessary tasks
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure proper maintenance of outdoor areas
- Provide guidance and support to less experienced horticultural staff
Requirements:
- Working knowledge of common landscape plants of Southwest Louisiana.
- Willingness and ability to perform physical work outside in diverse weather conditions.
- Ability to carry, climb, push. stoop, reach, dig, and to load/unload various objects.
