Clerk/Registrar
Job Overview: The Clerk/Registrar is responsible for maintenance of student records; provides supportive services for the scheduling process; performs office duties using computers and other technology.
Reports directly to Principal. As directed by principal, coordinates with school staff and students.
Position Qualifications: High school graduate with advanced office training and/or experience. Recent responsible office work experience involving bookkeeping or record keeping. Experience with word processing and computer programs.
Special Requirements:
· Knowledge of record keeping requiring to maintain accurate student records
· Ability to prepare accurate and complete records and reports
· Ability to operate a variety of modern office equipment that relates to complex clerical tasks
· Human relations skills that promote positive interactions with students, parents, staff and public
· Ability to maintain confidentiality
Responsibilities:
· Computer work relative to student records and scheduling. This may include preparing or compiling information for input, entering information online, generating specific lists, reports, schedules, etc., and maintenance of student records
· Completes necessary forms for new and returning students, and students withdrawing from school
· Requests transcripts of new students and prepares transcripts for graduates, as requested
· Maintains student accumulative folders, which may include grade reports, test results, computing student class rank and grade point average, etc.
· Provides supportive services to principal and guidance counseling department in preparation of master schedule. This may include organization and coordination activities, computer input, and generating schedules
· Completes attendance reports
· Maintain complete, accurate and current student census data
· Operates a variety of office machines
· Provides clerical assistance as required, which may include compiling/typing lists, taking/typing/distributing meeting minutes, typing programs, assisting with preparation of course descriptions, etc.
· Performs other duties as assigned
