Academic Partnerships is Hiring a Cloud Administrator (Google, AWS, and Azure) Near Dallas, TX

Academic Partnerships assists primarily regional universities in increasing their access and impact by making their academic programs available to students online. We are seeking an experienced Cloud Administrator to oversee all aspects of our cloud hosting environments, including Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS. The ideal candidate will bring a blend of technical cloud expertise and strong collaboration skills to provide engineering solutions to DevOps, Engineering, and Corporate Services teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, deploy, and maintain services across Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS.
  • Set up and manage database services, notably NoSQL, SQL, and its managed instances.
  • Implement Managed Apps, Service Catalogues, and Service Bus technologies.
  • Manage cloud backup and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Create and maintain architectural diagrams for new and existing service deployments.
  • Evaluation, research, and implement new cloud tools to optimize efficiency, performance, and cost.
  • Monitor and report to management on actual and projected monthly cloud services costs.
  • Monitor cloud environment performance (CPU, Disk Space, Network, etc.). Create and monitor critical alerts for all systems.
  • Provide expert-level support for critical issues, liaising with vendors for critical incident support or advisory.
  • Provide support for other business applications.
  • Participate in after-hours support rotation as a subject matter expert (SME) for Cloud Services.
  • Collaborate closely with DevOps teams, ensuring best practices in SDLC and effective code management.
  • Drive scripting and automation initiatives for cloud administration by leveraging PowerShell CLI and automation tools such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, and Azure CLI.
  • Oversee regular patching schedules, ensuring system and application security and stability.
  • Ensure the adoption and execution of patching strategies to maintain security and system health.
Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Google Cloud, Azure, and AWS platforms.
  • Experience with Cloud-based Networking to include VNETs and Subnets, implementing application gateways and Load Balancing.
  • Familiarity with Cloud-based Networking, including VNETs, application gateways, and load balancing.
  • Skilled in cloud storage management.
  • Proven ability in scripting and automation for deployment and operational tasks.
  • Understanding of OS internals, virtualization products, and technologies.
  • Demonstrated scripting abilities, including code modification for system tests and automated workflows.
  • Expertise in disaster recovery planning, implementation, and execution.
  • Proficiency in supporting and upgrading Windows and Linux systems.
  • Familiarity with change management best practices.
  • Strong grasp of PowerShell CLI and automation tools (e.g., Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Terraform, Azure CLI).

  • Ability to provide On-Call and after-hours services for critical incidents and maintenance windows
