HOURS: Full-Time

START RANGE: $16.00 ( ) Hourly

CAMPUS: Rancho Cucamonga, CA

Under the supervision of the Housekeeping Supervisor, custodians are responsible for cleaning and maintaining the facilities and grounds that make up the Church Campus, ensuring that facilities are clean, orderly, and attractive. The custodians safeguard the building and equipment against unauthorized use.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fully embraces and acts in accordance with the vision of Abundant Living Family Church (ALFC) to Seek the Lost, Teach the Found, and Send the Disciples.
  • Willing to fulfill the 7 pillars of ALFC. We are a Mission Driven, Leadership Driven, Discipleship Driven, Family Driven, Christ-Centered Driven, Kingdom Driven, Diversity Driven church.
  • Embraces and executes a Neighborhood GROUPS philosophy of ministry.
  • Clean rooms, offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, patios, and other communal areas. In addition to dusting furniture and equipment, polishing metal work, and replenishing bathroom supplies.
  • Scrub, clean, and polish restroom fixtures including toilets, basins, and mirrors.
  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, air conditioning grills, diffusers, surfaces, and trim.
  • Sweep, vacuum, scrub, strip, wax, and polish floors, quarry tile, and vinyl tile floors.
  • Shampoo carpets; clean rugs, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
  • Wash walls, windows, ceilings, and woodwork. Remove graffiti from all building surfaces and wash windows, door panels, and sills.
  • Empty waste receptacles. Transport trash and waste to disposal area.
  • Transport small cleaning equipment and tools between supply closets, offices, and meeting rooms.
  • Practice proper and safe handling of custodial equipment. Safely utilize the proper cleaning materials/ chemicals for various assigned duties.
  • Perform minor repairs and maintenance in bathroom, meeting rooms and other areas as needed. Notify the Housekeeping Supervisor of need for major repairs and safety hazards or infractions.
  • Move desks, file cabinets and other office related furniture and equipment.
  • Lock and unlock buildings in accordance with security procedures as assigned.
  • Stand in as backup to complete event set-ups as directed by the Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate.
  • 3 years of custodial experience.
  • General knowledge and experience in janitorial work.
  • Valid California driver’s license and ability to maintain valid California license throughout employment.
  • Ability to read and understand documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals and routine reports and correspondence.

  • Read, write, spell, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events with poise and professionalism.
  • Able to successfully complete background investigation and drug screen.
  • Required to stand up to 95% of the workday.

ORGANIZATIONAL AND SPIRITUAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Always demonstrate Christ-centered behavior by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion, and integrity.
  • Member of the ALFC (or willing to transfer membership to ALFC).
  • Pastors are required to attend all regularly scheduled Sunday and Wednesday church services. Support staff must attend at least one (1) regularly scheduled weekend church service.
  • Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter, and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
  • Regular involvement in ALFC activities, ministries, neighborhood groups, and events.
  • Tithe 10% to ALFC.
  • Signed acknowledgment of the ALFC’s Statement of Faith.
  • Ability to interpret and adhere to ALFC’s policies, procedures, and employee handbook.
  • Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
  • Professional attitude and demeanor.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Must be able to work independently, communicate effectively, and must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. (With or without assistance). Vision requirement for this job include good or excellent close/distance perception, color perception, peripheral/depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. This position also may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and hand/eye coordination for keyboard data entry and viewing data on a computer monitor. External and internal applicant, as well as position incumbents who are or become disable, as defined under the American with Disabilities Act, must be able to perform the Essential Job Functions either unaided or with assistance of a reasonable accommodation, if such is determined, on a case-by-case basis.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts; high precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock and vibrations. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with occasional exposure to loud noises.
