The Receptionist at Abundant Preschool of Learning plays a pivotal role as the primary point of contact, dedicated to fostering a positive and welcoming atmosphere for parents, children, and visitors. This position entails a blend of administrative responsibilities, effective communication, and providing valuable assistance. The Receptionist is tasked with promptly handling incoming phone calls, addressing inquiries, and offering pertinent information to staff, parents, and the public. In addition to managing Child Care Management Software, the Receptionist is able at checking and responding to emails, and proficiently executing a variety of clerical duties and other assigned tasks. The Abundant Preschool Receptionist will report directly to the Site Supervisor or another Abundant Preschool of Learning administrator.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Fully embraces and acts in accordance with the vision of Abundant Living Family Church (ALFC) to Seek the Lost, Teach the Found, and Send the Disciples.
  • Willing to fulfill the 7 pillars of ALFC. We are a Mission Driven, Leadership Driven, Discipleship Driven, Family Driven, Christ-Centered Driven, Kingdom Driven, Diversity Driven church.
  • Receive incoming calls and make proper connections.
  • Maintain open and courteous communication as well as a professional and cooperative attitude with the staff, parents and public.
  • Maintain and organized and welcoming reception area.
  • Adhere to and when necessary, explain school policies and procedures.
  • Effectively communicate and provide accurate information and/or directions to appropriate individuals.
  • Utilize Child Care Management Software to enter data, verify information and transmit messages to staff and parents.
  • Process outgoing mail.
  • Maintain and update the phone systems pre-recorded automated responses.
  • Understand and carry out specific oral and written directions.
  • Perform varied clerical tasks.
  • Adhere to the ministry’s standards of confidentiality.
  • Work independently with little direction.
  • React quickly and appropriately to challenging situations.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

Qualifications


EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Must possess strong computer skills, including proficiency with spreadsheets, databases, and word processing software. Windows based software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Two years of general clerical experience
  • Proof of current TB Clearance, MMR immunization, Tdap immunization, and Influenza vaccination. *The Influenza vaccination may be declined with a signed statement.
  • Able to successfully complete background investigation and drug screen.
  • Experience with interacting with the public
  • English language proficiency, oral and written form
  • Ability to type 45 words per minute.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 12 Early Childhood Education Units.

*All applicable course work must be completed with a grade of C or better from a regionally accredited college or university.

  • 3 Units in Business Administration
  • Completion of 21 hours of professional growth annually.
  • Possession and maintenance of Child Abuse Mandated Reporter Certificate.
  • Possession and maintenance of San Bernardino County Food Handlers Card.
  • Possession and maintenance of Adult/Child/Infant First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.

JOB SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES

  • Read, write, spell, and communicate clearly in English.
  • Adapts to changes in the work environment; able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events with poise and professionalism.
  • Correct communication skills, English, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Experience in working with standard office machines/equipment.
  • Acquainted with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
