ABTech Inc is Hiring an Alumni coordinator Near Asheville, NC

The Center for Craft seeks a new part-time Alumni Engagement Coordinator to build and deepen connections with a growing network of over 500 craft artists, curators, and scholars previously supported through the Center’s grant and fellowship programs.

The position will be responsible for creating a vibrant and interconnected alumni network by cultivating reciprocal relationships and engaging recipients in a digital social platform and related programs.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator will :

  • Work collaboratively with staff and alumni to develop and execute the Center for Craft’s Alumni Engagement plan.
  • Organize alumni programming, events, and meetups (virtual and in person, as appropriate) that help build a vibrant, connected alumni network.
  • Develop, coordinate, and deliver programs and other content to provide meaningful opportunities for alumni’s continued learning, service, volunteering, networking, and professional development.
  • Manage and moderate the Center’s forthcoming alumni-focused digital social platform (Mighty Networks Path-to-Pro), communicating with alumni to strategically build engagement and develop a friendly, professional, and supportive online alumni community.

This may include active communication and coordination with alumni, promoting engagement, and answering alumni questions and inquiries.

Generate metrics to measure and evaluate alumni engagement, programs, and the long-term impact of Center for Craft grants and fellowships, providing regular reports on learnings.

Work closely with the Grants Writer to creatively and strategically collect, document, and highlight alumni impact stories and other data.

  • Create opportunities for interaction among Center for Craft staff, alumni, and potential donors and enhance the potential for giving by representing the Center for Craft at various functions with a significant concentration of alumni and / or potential donors.
  • Engage alumni in the work of the Center for Craft through regular communication channels, such as a newsletter, print, and social media, exceptional customer service, and strategic outreach.

Ensure alumni records are current and contact information remains up to date.

  • Identify, cultivate, and convene volunteer alumni leadership (Alumni Ambassadors) to gauge needs, identify opportunities, and guide the continual, relevant, and reciprocal development of alumni programming.
  • Assist Program, Development, and Communications Staff with the planning and executing of public-facing alumni storytelling and other programming.
  • Assist the Visitor Service Coordinator by researching and suggesting items created by Alumni for sale in The Shop, the Center’s onsite and virtual retail outlet.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the Center for Craft by working on special projects and performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

This position is part-time (up to 30 hours / week) and hourly ($23 / hour) and reports to the Grants Writer. Work hours must be regularly scheduled between Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 6 PM EST.

The Alumni Engagement Coordinator may be remote or work on-site at the Center for Craft in downtown Asheville, North Carolina.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Strong working knowledge of Arts Administration, Art History, Communications, or a related field and 2 experience in a craft-, arts- and / or a community development-related work environment
  • Center for Craft alumni come from various geographic, socioeconomic, and cultural backgrounds, representing all forms of diversity.

All potential candidates must recognize diversity and inclusion as central to excellence.

  • Strong administrative and project management skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, and flexible planner capable of working independently and with a team
  • Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills, as well as comfort navigating a wide range of backgrounds and communication styles
  • Passion for community-, relationship-, and network-building, with strong customer service skills and intent to develop and maintain positive relationships
  • Creative thinking skills and a growth mindset
  • Advising and / or coaching skills preferred
  • Background in and passion for the arts; working knowledge of the craft field is preferred
  • Experience moderating engagement on digital social platforms is preferred but not required
  • Advanced computer knowledge required, including Google Drive, Microsoft Office, Zoom, Monday.com, and social media platforms.

Familiarity with Mighty Pro apps is preferred.
