The Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a Full-Time Regular status Environmental Policy and Governance Senior Analyst who will work with various teams of staff. Project work will vary, with focus on projects related to air quality modeling, watersheds, climate change, and equity. Candidates must work well independently and as a team. 

Core Responsibilities

• Work with Abt technical teams to produce high-quality on-time technical work.
• Provide technical expertise to clients in areas related to air emissions and quality; climate impacts, adaptation, and mitigation; and watershed restoration and water resource management.
• Cultivate sustained client relationships.

What We Value

• Bachelor’s Degree Five years of relevant experience or Master’s Degree 3 years of relevant experience or PhD
• Degree in earth sciences or related degree 
• Experience working with, developing, testing, and/or refining air quality models related to climate impacts, adaptation, and mitigation efforts with focus on environmental justice populations and other populations of concern and interpreting model outputs.
• Demonstrated professional writing capabilities with a publication history in both science and policy topic areas.
• Experience supporting watershed-based restoration planning with focus on hydrology and the water cycle. 
• Experience reviewing and analyzing policies and suggesting policy change to enhance climate mitigation or adaptation efforts.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, including setting priorities and adapting to changes in a time-sensitive, deliverable-driven workplace. 
• 5 years of experience in technical writing. 
• Experience synthesizing technical information for lay or diverse audiences.
• Previous experience drafting memorandums, reports, and deliverables for federal, state, or tribal clients/ projects.
• Experience drafting proposals and/ or grants.
• Prior consulting experience.
• Building a database of funding opportunities
• Demonstrated understanding of federal, state, and tribal clients.

This position is fully remote and offers an anticipated salary of approximately $69,118.15 to $110,589.04 per year, which may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
