Duties:
- Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting
- Assist with daily living activities such as meal preparation, personal hygiene, and medication administration
- Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors
- Support individuals in developing social skills and participating in community activities
- Maintain accurate documentation of services provided and individual progress
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including social workers, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
- Assist with lifting and transferring individuals as needed
Skills:
- Experience in meal preparation and following dietary guidelines
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and strategies
- Familiarity with social work systems and resources
- Ability to provide patient care and support individuals with medical needs
- Understanding of medication administration protocols under the supervision of a nurse
- Previous experience working in a nursing home or similar healthcare setting is preferred
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain confidentiality
- Physical ability to lift and transfer individuals as required
