General Description
Responsibilities & Duties
- Operates trucks various sizes and weights, with both manual and automatic transmissions, in loading, hauling and unloading of equipment, materials and supplies.
- Operates heavy equipment such as backhoe, skidster, forklifts, excavator, etc.
- Operates chainsaws and other small equipment and tools. Maintains all equipment in safe working condition.
- Performs routine inspection and prevention maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor, cleans equipment.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards.
- Attend meetings when requested/required.
- Travel as needed and when requested.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Graduate or GED equivalent
- Experience operating trucks and other heavy equipment are preferred.
- Must be able make minor repairs to equipment.
- A valid Oklahoma Driver’s License is required.
- Must be insurable.
- Must be able to pass a drug test for pre-employment for the Tribe.
- Must be able to pass criminal background check.
- Should enjoy working outdoors, in all weather conditions;
- Travel as needed and when requested.
- Like to work with plants and/or animals;
- Be practical and hard-working;
- Have diligence;
- Have mechanical aptitude;
- Have organizational ability;
- Have the ability to endure isolation and limited social contact;
- Have good physical strength and stamina;
- Be independent, responsible and self-disciplined;
- Ability to lift 50lbs.
- Sitting or standing or walking for long period of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking hearing and visual acuity.
