ABS Kids is Hiring a Remote Telehealth Assessor

ABS Kids is looking for a telehealth Assessor to join our team. The Behavior Analyst/Assessor is responsible for developing ABA treatment plans for patients with ASD.

Our Administrative Support team members play a vital role in advancing our mission to make a difference in the lives of children with autism spectrum disorder and their families. Compensation and Benefits:

What Would You Do?

  • Complete multiple assessment appointments with families both in home and in the center
  • Utilize evidence-based ABA assessment techniques consistent with the VB-MAPP protocol
  • Evaluate patients diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) for ABA therapy services
  • Complete the Medical Necessity Assessment to determine clinically recommended hours
  • Review treatment overview, processes, and expectations with the family
  • Keep the intake team updated regarding delays and scheduling issues
  • Prepare and submit final ABA assessment report using approved payor specific templates ideally within one week but no later than two weeks following the assessment
  • Ensure reports are submitted on time each week. Document appointments and administrative time in Central Reach as directed by the regional team
  • Protect participant confidentiality by maintaining assessment records on protected EMR
  • Stay abreast of ABA assessment and evaluation techniques and tools via ongoing training

Who Are We Looking For?

  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university with a concentration in early childhood education/development, early childhood special education, special education, psychology or related field
  • Must be a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Three years of related professional experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) in a multi-disciplinary team setting preferred
  • Communicate information and ideas both verbally and in writing so others will understand
  • Observe and record data on patient behavior, documenting exactly what is observed in an objective and concrete manner
  • Understand information and ideas presented both verbally and in writing.
  • Identify when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and take appropriate steps to intervene for the safety of the patient
  • Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop constructive and cooperative working relationships with others, and maintain them over time
  • Provide personal assistance, including physical guidance in situations where the patient is unable to conduct themselves safely
  • Demonstrate tolerance for maladaptive behaviors, including but not limited to aggressive, self-injurious, and difficult to manage behaviors, demonstrated by patients
  • Ability to enter, transcribe, record, store, and maintain information in written or electronic form via PC, laptop or mobile device
  • Understand the importance of customer satisfaction and do more than required to ensure quality of care and customer retention
  • Expertise in approaches to intervention based on the science of Applied Behavior Analysis
  • Competent in employing and directing behavior analytic methodologies including Pivotal Response Training (PRT), Natural Environment Teaching (NET), Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Behavior Skills Training (BST), and experimental functional analysis (EFA)
  • Expert knowledge of scientifically-validated methodologies and approaches found to benefit children with ASD; familiar with current related research findings
  • Familiar with the field of early intervention; knowledge of other community resources and agencies that serve children
  • Expertise in all empirically evaluated assessment and intervention strategies related to program and service delivery for individuals with ASD
  • Strong clinical, administrative, and leadership skills
  • Ability to maintain customer service orientation and professionalism in all interactions
  • Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making, and communication skills with a variety of individuals and groups. Exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality
  • Must relate well to children and their families
  • Proficient in all applicable computer programs (Microsoft Office and Central Reach)
