Controller Full Time Days Position Summary
The hospital controller assists the CFO in all daily financial operations, including month end close review, analysis and action planning, daily key performance indicator monitoring as well as supply chain and revenue cycle operations oversight. Assists the hospital CFO in safeguarding hospital assets and ensuring the financial statements, including the books and records, are prepared and maintained in accordance with GAAP. Provides hands-on training, continuous improvement and assistance to department leaders and staff related to facility financial operations. Responsible for preparation of the facility's annual detailed operating budget, routine forecast preparation and adherence to audit requirements
SPECIAL SKILLS: Must be extremely accurate, self-motivated and be able to work under pressure. Must be able to prioritize and vary work schedule as needed to meet deadlines. Unquestionable ethics, excellent critical thinking skills as well as style and substance that generates respect and credibility; resilience to working under pressure; demonstrated ability to motivate, challenge and develop professional staff; ability to work across functional lines to engage disparate resources to work together to achieve results; common sense with a solid generalist background; ability to convert complex finance, operational, and compliance issues into terms and concepts that are easily disseminated throughout all levels of the organization.
THE CONTROLLER FULL TIME DAYS CANDIDATE WILL POSSESS THE FOLLOWING EDUCATION, LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE.
MINIMUM EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent minimum experience requirements.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Three years experience working in hospital accounting or finance.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Five years accounting, revenue cycle and financial analysis experience in a hospital setting.
PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/REGISTRATION: CPA
