Abound Food Care is currently seeking a Fund Developer who has a track record of building and growing a base of financial supporters including individuals, foundations, and other sponsors. This full-time role is a hybrid position based at Abound Food Care’s office in Santa Ana, CA.

What we do

· Enhancing Community Resilience and Emergency Preparedness: Abound Food Care has spearheaded a program that develops a repurposing kitchen model, which uses excess edible food to create ready-to-eat nutritious meals. These meals are stored in solar-powered freezer units, readily available during times of crisis. The meals are also distributed to local non-profit organizations to feed those in need.

· Handling Food with Dignity: Abound Food Care is working with partner organizations to implement consumer choice models that enable community members to receive food that is appropriate to their individual needs and preferences. This allows the opportunity to feed people from a range of cultures with dignity in addition to ensuring food is healthy and appropriate for their dietary needs. Abound Food Care works with medical professionals, social workers, and cultural leaders to ensure our network of non-profit partners is meeting consumer needs.

· Going Beyond Food to End Food Insecurity: Through an “Enhanced Service Model”, Abound Food Care is working with non-profit partners to ensure each distribution location is provided with the resources it needs to address health issues, job skills, and other social determinants of health that are the root cause of hunger. By partnering with these programs to deliver nutritious food, our system becomes better designed to help food insecurity.

Responsibilities

· Develop annual organizational fundraising strategy and secure management/board approval.

· Evaluate progress toward goals and provide regular reporting to leadership and Board of Directors.

· Research and apply to corporations, foundations, and public entities for grant awards.

· Manage all aspects of post-award grants including reporting requirements.

· Lead and collaborate with staff on the management and planning of fundraising events and donor receptions.

· Develop and implement gift recognition policies.

· Establish systems, processes, and tools to maximize fundraising capacity including development and maintenance of donor management database.

· Develop print and digital marketing collateral related to fundraising in collaboration with the marketing department.

· Work with Marketing to ensure integrity of Abound Food Care brand in all communication pieces and efforts.

Qualifications & Skills

· 5 years of fundraising experience, including experience closing major gifts and grant writing.

· Bachelors degree or equivalent relevant experience.

· Knowledge and experience in all aspects of philanthropy, including giving trends, benchmarks, and best practices; research; fundraising techniques and strategies; data analytics; and development operations such as gift processing, prospect and donor research, and fundraising reporting.

· Ability to develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies that include a range of funding sources.

· Possesses an existing set of ongoing relationships and a network of known donors, both individuals and organizations, that are a good fit for Abound Food Care.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to translate program information to effectively engage a variety of audiences.

· Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

· Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

· Ability to engage people in a positive manner and build external relationships.

· “Self-starter” who drives results with minimal supervision.

· Possess a desire to create systemic change to create food-secure communities.
