ABM is Hiring a Low Voltage Control Technician Near Oklahoma, OK
Under the general supervision of the Building Systems Manager, the Building Systems Technician is responsible for installing and repairing components, performing preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting issues for the Building Automation (BAS) and Lighting Control Systems (LCS) This position will also be an integral part of the Energy Team and Energy Management System (EnMS).
Responsibilities:
Performs electrical installations of a commercial nature
Plans layout and installation of electrical equipment, conduit, wiring and fixtures, based on job specifications and local codes
Works from ladders, scaffolds, or lifts to install electrical conduit, equipment, fixtures or wiring
Installs, inspects and tests electrical systems. Installations include but are not limited to panel boards, conduits, lay-in fixtures, wall packs, exit signs, light fixtures, disconnects, breakers, power distribution equipment and power supply wiring.
Reads and understands labels, job site maps, instruction manuals, and written instructions accurately to perform all duties in conformance to appropriate safety and security standards
May perform other duties or be required to work on different projects as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
Installation of new BAS and LCS controls and components for a fully functional system including:
Controllers
Relays
Sensors
Actuators
Cabling
Terminal strips
Enclosures
Power supplies
Meters
Transformers
Wiring hangers and supports
PowPaks
All other necessary components for a fully functional system
Performing takeoffs from engineered drawings and creating a list of all needed materials to provide to the Project Manager
Maintaining supplies and inventory in a neat and organized manner
Creating and/or updating as-built drawings for all work performed
Testing BAS and LCS components for proper functionality
Response, troubleshooting, and repair of existing BAS and LCS systems and networks
Inspects completed work for conformance with specifications, requirements, and compliance with applicable building and safety codes and regulation
Coordinates with the Building Systems Coordinator and Facilities team on projects and work orders to accomplish tasks
Performing PM activities on all BAS and LCS system components at regularly scheduled intervals
Providing input to the Energy team on ways to conserve energy through more efficient products, procedures, and best practices within the BAS and LCS
Implementing certain low-cost energy measures and assisting with Energy audits
Assisting the Building Systems Manager and Coordinator with programming new components of the BAS and LCS
Assisting the Access Controls team with wire pulls and general installation of low-voltage access controls systems, when available or a great need arises
Other duties as requested by the Building Systems Manager
Peferred Qualifications:
One year of similar experience preferred.
Must be 18 years of age or older
Oklahoma Journeyman Electrician license
Vocational/Technical degree in electrical, HVAC, or security systems
Experience installing data/CAT6 cabling
Knowledge of BACnet and/or Modbus protocol for Building Automation Systems
Knowledge of DMX protocol for Lighting Control Systems
Experience working on Automated Logic WebCTRL system
Experience working on Lutron Vive system
Pay Rate: $25-30/hr The pay listed is the hourly range or the hourly rate for this position. A specific offer will vary based on applicant’s experience, skills, abilities, geographic location, and alignment with market
