JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE..... Shipping helper

POSITION SUMMARY
Pulls orders, counts, loads, and unloads product on incoming and
outgoing trailers according to the shipping schedule. Position requires demonstration of competency for all on-the-job activities that may have a direct or indirect affect on product safety, legality and/or quality.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/MAJOR DUTIES
● Ensures that product received from production or other plants is recorded correctly.
● Verifies loads are accurate after they have been unloaded and separated into sections prior to Distributor confirming final purchase.
Verifies accuracy of stale product sold back to Flowers.
● Maintains cleanliness of warehouse.
● Practice and complies with all Company policies and procedures including safety and work rules, etc.
● Performance of other duties which are deemed by management to be an integral part of the job, including but not limited to fulfillment of work schedules, adherence to attendance policies, and other applicable operating rules, policies and procedures.
● Practices and complies with all Company policies and procedures (EEO, Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes Oxley, etc.).
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION/REQUIREMENTS
MOBILITY - Physically capable of movement to all Warehouse areas.
Ability to exert force necessary to move wheeled equipment weighing (400 lbs), at a distance of (100 )feet.
Ability to routinely stoop, bend, and lift product containers weighing ( 20 lbs).
SENSORY
Ability to distinguish color coded equipment, containers, label, signs, etc. Visual ability necessary to recognize warning devices, signs, and deviations from production standards. Hearing sufficient to detect audible alarms.
COMMUNICATION
- Speech and hearing abilities that allow the individual to communicate clearly and distinctly in English, and/or another language if required. Ability to read, hear, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, work schedules and written supervisory instructions.
Ability to generate written communication and operate required office equipment. Ability to read, comprehend and practice necessary safety procedures, signs, etc.
OTHER
Ability to wear and use approved, applicable safety equipment, as needed
Must meet/maintain FDC and CDC food handling requirements on public safety for work in a food production environment.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
Ability to work odd hours.
Must meet/maintain Center for Disease Control Food handling requirements and other governmental and/or customer requirements.
Must have ability to wear/use approved applicable safety equipment (when required).
Ability to work in extreme heat.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE
Six (6) or more months shipping or related experience.
DESIRED EDUCATION
No educational prerequisite; however, must have demonstrated ability to read, comprehend and record information applicable to the job.
