ABM US is Hiring a Groundskeeper Near Joliet, IL
Under direct supervision, will implement detailed landscape plans. Plant, fertilize, apply chemicals and water, remove weeds, and prune woody and herbaceous plants. Perform required routine preventative maintenance and repair activities to grounds equipment.
- Perform required routine preventative maintenance and repair activities on grounds equipment
- Plant, transplant, fertilize, apply chemicals and water, prune, and remove weeds from flower beds and plant areas
- Maintain flowering plants, bushes, trees, and shrubs
- Implement detailed landscape plans
- Plant and propagate bedding plants
- Pick up and disposes of litter
- May assist in various maintenance activities as required
- May operate a motor vehicle to transport materials and equipment, as appropriate to the position
- May oversee and/or assist with snow removal activities
- May irrigate, mow, rake, and trim lawns
- Participate in and promote a culture of continuing quality improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Assists with the daily/weekly/monthly walk-through of customer facilities in support of data center and office operations
- Performs preventive maintenance on all building equipment
- Assists, as necessary, with scheduling of preventative maintenance, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance with minimal disruption of building services
- Responds quickly to emergency situations and customer concerns
- Ensures Critical Facilities Technician, Contract Manager and/or Customer receives timely verbal and written operating reports that give him/her a clear understanding of the condition of the building’s critical systems and the present level of ongoing preventative maintenance
- Escorts subcontractors as required
- Has knowledge of warehouse/inventory management principles and best practices
- Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Is able to prioritize projects and has strong problem-solving skills
- Has good research skills and is highly organized, with strong attention to detail
- Is able to work independently
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position
