Summary Installs, repairs, rebuilds, and services mechanical or electrical locking devices by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Adheres to client security policies.
• Installs and services all types of doors including fire separation and standard classroom types.
• Works on panic devices and closers both automatic and manual. Keeps pull forces compliant on doors per ADA requirements
• Installs rated vision kits as dictated and permittable by code.
• Maintains hinges and ensures latching and smooth operation of all interior and exterior doors.
• Works on gates and barriers and works closely with security on access control actuators

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no supervisory responsibilities. However, is expected to lead response effort upon occasion of lesser skilled service team members.

Education and/or Experience

One-year certificate from college or technical school; or one to three years related on job experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Computer Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet software; Inventory software; via Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS); Order processing systems; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations 

• Doore hardware, automatic door and ADA door hardware certifications preferred 
• Current and clean Driver’s License

Other Skills and Abilities

• Awareness of Prox Reader Systems / Card Key Access
• Familiarity with Stanley / BEST, ASA Abloy, Seargent or Corbin and other cored systems
