JOB DESCRIPTION
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The program recreation staff is responsible for providing a safe and fun environment for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Program recreation staff are responsible for planning and implementing recreational activities, filling out all required paperwork and data, communicating information with parents/guardians, and provide medications and first aid when necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
75% Recreation Activities and Camper Supervision
Carry out the implementation of recreation activities and supervising campers. Check campers in and out of care, administer medications and first aid, handle behaviors and needs of population.
20% Planning, Budgeting, and Tracking Information
Create weekly schedules and budget sheets for activities, track spending throughout the week, turn in all receipts with explanations weekly, track attendance for campers with HCBS or FSD funding.
5% Parent Communication
Communicate needs and updates with parents and guardians, attend open houses, and be available to parents/guardians during check in and check out.
Education Requirements: None
Up to date on agency training
Experience Requirements:
Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to lift 50 pounds and participate in recreational activities including but not limited to: walking, swimming, climbing, running, and lifting.
