Abile Group, Inc. is Hiring a Virtualization Engineer - Hyper-V Near Lorton, VA

Overview

Abile Group has an exciting and challenging opportunity for a Virtualization Engineer supporting an Intelligence Community Customer in Lorton, VA. As a Virtualization Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining virtualized environments. You will play a crucial role in optimizing performance, ensuring high availability, and supporting various virtualization technologies to meet customer requirements on both classified and unclassified networks.

The right candidate will possess the below skills and qualifications and be ready to handle all responsibilities independently and professionally.

Responsibilities

  • Designs and implements virtualization solutions using validated methodologies; maintaining and upgrading data center virtualization and network virtualization & cloud environments.
  • Operates and maintains virtual environments technologies, to include Hyper-V and VMware.
  • Performs quality control checks, ensuring the effectiveness and reliability of the systems, tools, and products.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining detailed documentation of operational procedures.
  • Must demonstrate expert knowledge of and ability to apply advanced technical principles, theories, and concepts using Microsoft HyperV, Microsoft Server and VMWare VCenter Server and associated hyper converged storage
  • Demonstrates day-to-day adherence with change management precepts and practices and is responsible for writing Change Requests.
  • Troubleshoots and resolves unique or complex problems in an efficient manner.
  • Prepares clear and timely technical documentation for complex issues, to include recommended/required actions.
  • Interfaces directly with the client and parallel teams when necessary.
  • Applies DISA STIGs and resolution of security vulnerabilities.
  • Available for on-call support and virtualization engineering expertise when operational issues or outages are escalated (as necessary).

Qualifications

Clearance Required: Active TS/SCI

Degree and Years of Experience: BS degree and 8 – 12 years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6 – 10 years of prior relevant experience; additional experience in lieu of degree accepted.

Required Skills:

  • Performs hardware and software technology refreshes, ensuring milestone compliance
  • Proficient understanding of virtualization environments such as Hyper-V technology and VMware VCenter in a hyper converged environment

  • Fundamental understanding of virtualization image creation, maintenance, testing and deployment

  • Hands-on experience implementing DoD STIG requirements and patch and update/vulnerability mitigation

  • Hands-on experience with reviewing system logs and events to resolve issues

  • Demonstrated analytical approach to solve complex problems in a large-scale, and multi datacenter environment

  • Develops and provides solutions to complex technical issues and problems that impact testing and production computing enclaves

  • Demonstrates the ability to manage data backup and recovery solutions as required

  • Experienced with creating and managing critical system work instruction and Standard Operating Procedure documentation

  • Experiences with creating and managing Active Directory, Group Policy Objects, MS Server Operating systems

Desired Skills: 

  • Experience with Linux and scripting
