Job Title: Merchandiser

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a part time position.

Work days for each week is Monday, Thursday and Saturday. The average weekly hours is 10 hours. The weekly work hours may be increased during the holiday seasons.

Work Location: A total of 8 stores, including Kahului Walmart, and all Foodland stores/markets/pantry in Maui.

Primary Role:

The Merchandiser fulfills the merchandising needs of our customers through stocking the shelves and building and maintaining displays. In addition, the Merchandiser needs to develop a healthy relationship with the store staff, including associates, department Team Lead and Coach.

As a Merchandiser for our company, you are primarily, though not exclusively, merchandising our own brand of products. This includes physically moving products from the backrooms and then stocking the product on the shelf. Areas of focus will include stocking to ensure full-shelf conditions, neatly-merchandising displays and shelves, building display point-of-sale in all areas of the store, and making sure accurate price tags / point-of-sale in all departments.

A major objective of this role is to establish and maintain clear and effective communication with the department Team Lead and Coach. This role will be responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate merchandising service schedule. This role is also be responsible for communicating with the store to obtain feature spots for the best interest of the brand and to boost the sales.

Benefits and Compensation:

The Merchandiser position offers a competitive hourly compensation rate from $20 to $25.00 subject to relevant experience and performance.

Key Competencies:

· Ability to perform hard work in a fast-paced work environment and to meet the defined physical activities, which include:

o Repetitive lifting (from floor to waist, chest high and above), bending, and carrying up to 25 lbs., pushing & pulling carts with loaded products for refilling purposes, occasional ladder use, while adhering to established safety expectations and processes

o Ability to stand and stock shelves, using repetitive hand/arm motions throughout the entire shift

o Unpacking product from cases packaging

· Previous retail / grocery experience is a plus, as well as work that has included repetitive physical activities (lifting, bending, reaching, carrying, pushing and pulling)

· Ability to drive your personal vehicle to the store locations (mileage reimbursed and travel time between stores is paid)

· A flexible work schedule is required, including being available to work on occasional holidays and Saturdays

· Effectively communicate with Customers, Associates and Store Leadership in a friendly, respectful, cooperative and pleasant manner

· Attentive to details, able to quickly observe errors on pricing or displays

Requirements:

· You must be at least 18 years of age.

· You should have a valid driver's license, and a proof of auto insurance.

· You must have a cell phone in order to take pictures of the shelves and products for each visit, and send these to your direct manager while at the store, and communicate with your direct manager when needed.

· Previous retail / grocery experience a plus.
