Qualifications

• Valid Washington State Teaching Certificate with appropriate CTE endorsement, or qualifications to work towards the appropriate CTE endorsement
• Minimum of three years of paid work experience in the automotive industry
• Experience in teaching at the secondary level preferred
• Knowledge of current industry trends in the automotive field
• Knowledge of current trends in curriculum, instruction and technology
• Demonstrated ability to plan and implement programs to meet the needs of diverse learners
• Demonstrated evidence of skills to provide a productive learning environment
• Ability to work cooperatively with others
• Effective human relations and communication skills with students, parents, staff and community members
• Effective organization skills and experience with documentation
• Ability to meet deadlines

Duties and Responsibilities

• Work cooperatively with administration and staff to develop and implement instructional programs and activities
• Effectively teach the approved curriculum using appropriate instructional methods and materials in alignment with state approved course frameworks to meet district objectives for student learning
• Provide leadership opportunities for students in accordance with state CTE program standards
• Utilize technology tools such as student learning management systems to communicate learning progress with students and parents
• Develop and maintain an advisory committee made up of individuals from the automotive industry; prepare for and host a minimum of three meetings per year
• Complete and maintain required reports and records in alignment with state and local CTE standards, including those for national certification of the program (NATEF)
• Maintain required training for nationally certified program (NATEF)
• Establish and maintain appropriate standards for classroom progress and behavior to provide a supportive and productive learning environment

SALARY: 2020-21 District Teacher Salary Schedule. 2022-23 Salary Schedule TBD
