Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to the following:

Diesel work duties include all aspects of truck repair other than bodywork, to include computer diagnostics on engine, transmission, emissions system, transmission electrical, starting systems; engine PM; A/C; and other typical truck repairs.

• Preventative Maintenance (PMs), safety inspections, and annual maintenance inspections within company standards.
• Knowledge in fault diagnostics, A/C system, brake system, emission systems, air systems, and diagnostics/troubleshooting of diesel engines and trailer assemblies.
• Trailer repair duties typically include checking running gear including brakes, tires/wheels, air systems, suspension, electrical systems & lights, as well as conducting preventative maintenance (PMs) services.
• Tire repair, mounting and dismounting.
• Backup to other maintenance shop personnel.
• Accurately complete all paperwork including repair information on work orders.
• Dedication and adherence to all company and industry safety standards.
• Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability and desire to learn.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds
• Must be able to comply with all company policies, rules, procedures and Code of Conduct

Experience:

• Prior diesel truck repair, heavy-duty maintenance, or similar experience is required.
• The ideal candidate will have 3- 5 years of experience with a tractor or trailer dealer or truck repair shop.
• Industry technical certifications are a plus, but not required.
• Working Knowledge of DOT, OSHA and other state and federal regulations.
• Demonstrated experience with repairing engine electronics and telematics, exhaust and aftertreatment systems.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience
• Must have basic hand tools and toolbox or mobile cabinet.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to use diagnostic programs & work order software.
