The Washington D,C. Bureau Chief will manage all news teams based in Washington, D.C and will be responsible for leading and driving collaboration between our powerhouse politics team and all DC reporting verticals to execute a winning strategy for both breaking news and day-to-day coverage.
The right candidate will be a strong leader who believes collaboration across divisions and departments, our owned stations and affiliates makes coverage stronger and better. The Bureau Chief will help set the news agenda and editorial vision out of Washington so that all platforms at ABC News are competitive.
In addition to editorial responsibilities, the bureau chief will oversee bureau operations and manage key stakeholder relationships inside and outside of the organization in Washington. The ideal candidate will be a smart communicator who can serve as an ambassador and protector of our straightforward ABC brand.
The Bureau Chief will report to the Vice President of Global Newsgathering.

The hiring range for this position in Washington D.C. is $297,800 to $409,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.Full Time
