ABC Home & Commercial Services is Hiring a HVAC Residential Technician Near Lewisville, TX

Description

 A residential HVAC technician plays a vital role in ensuring the comfort and well-being of homeowners. Their primary focus is providing exceptional customer service by promptly diagnosing and resolving issues with heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This involves troubleshooting malfunctions, performing repairs, and conducting routine maintenance to keep systems running efficiently. They clearly explain technical problems to customers, address their concerns, and offer recommendations for system operation and potential upgrades. Adherence to safety regulations and industry standards is paramount, ensuring both the quality of their work and the continued comfort of the residents.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Diagnose and Troubleshoot HVAC Systems: Utilize blueprints, diagrams, and various testing tools to pinpoint malfunctions within heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Perform Repairs and Maintenance: Repair identified issues with HVAC systems, ensuring adherence to manufacturer's specifications and industry best practices.
  • Safety Compliance: Maintain strict compliance with safety regulations established by governing bodies like the Texas Administrative Code for Labor (TACLB), particularly Title 25, which outlines specific safety protocols for HVAC technicians.
  • Customer Service: Clearly explain technical issues and potential solutions to homeowners, address concerns, and offer recommendations for efficient system operation and upgrades.

Requirements

Experience and Skills required:

  • 2-3 years of experience required
  • Ability to work on-call one week per month 
  • Knowledge of core principles of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment.
  • Ability to Read Blueprints and Schematics
  • Proficiency with Hand and Power Tools
  • Adherence to Safety Standards outlined by TACLB Title 25 and others.
  • Refrigerant Handling Certification
  • Ability to clearly explain technical information to customers and effectively collaborate with colleagues.
  • Providing exceptional service by addressing homeowner concerns, explaining solutions, and offering recommendations.
  • Problem-Solving Skills
  • Ability to Multi-Task and Work Independently
  • Teamwork
  • Maintaining a courteous and professional demeanor.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • HVAC Certification
  • Valid Texas Driver's License
  • Background and drug screen required 
  • Authorization to Work in the United States

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to frequently walk, climb ladders, and stoop while navigating various work environments, including attics, crawl spaces, and rooftops.
  • Driving a vehicle is essential for traveling to customer locations and for equipment transportation.
  • Lifting and carrying moderately heavy equipment (e.g., air conditioners and furnaces) may be required while adhering to safe lifting practices. 
  • Ability to work in sustained physical positions for extended periods, including bending, twisting, kneeling, and crouching during equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, and snow.
  • Ability to work in confined areas with limited access and ventilation, such as attics, crawl spaces, and other confined areas.

Driver's Responsibilities:

  • Operates a company vehicle safely and efficiently, following pre-assigned daily routes.
  • Assumes responsibility for basic vehicle maintenance, including tire condition, replacement, brake checks, and timely oil changes.
  •  Maintains strict adherence to all safety protocols and relevant driving regulations, reporting any work-related injuries immediately to designated supervisors.
  • Complies with established company vehicle usage policies and upholds a clean driving record.
  • Promptly reports any auto accidents to the Service Manager within one hour of occurrence.
  • Maintains an active Texas driver's license and provides updated copies to Human Resources.
