Job Summary
- The Home Health Aide provides a skilled level of care service to assist in bathing and personal care and simple household tasks in order to increase the patient and family's level of comfort during the acute phase of illness. Provides assistance to primarily geriatric patients and occasionally may assist other populations such as pediatric through older adult.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Education Requirement
  - Must be a high school graduate or have a GED Diploma. Education requirement may be waived for five plus years of recent and continuous Aide experience.
- Minimum Experience Requirement
  - Prefer at least 1 year experience in the last 24 months as an HHA or Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home or home health agency, or within the last 24 months has completed Certified Nursing Assistant or HHA program.
- Minimum License Requirement
  - Current BLS certification prior to providing patient care. Must have current CNA certificate or must have successfully completed a HHA training program and competency evaluation program that meets both state and federal regulations and has completed the required in-service hours to maintain the Home Health Aide certification. Current SC Drivers license in good standing, valid car insurance and must maintain a driving record that is insurable under AAMC's auto insurance policy.
- Physical Requirement/Working Conditions
  - External applicants, as well as position incumbents who become disabled, must be able to perform the essential functions, either unaided or with the assistance of a reasonable accommodation to be determined on a case by case basis. Must have reliable transportation.
