Team Leader - 2nd Shift - Shipping

Responsible for the work of operators in the functions of shipping, pick/pack, and daily operation of the facility. Ensuring team members have the necessary tools, equipment and support necessary to perform their job. Communicate pertinent information with the supervisor, the oncoming shift, and other departments daily.

Your responsibilities

• Understands and follows plant safety and procedures.
• Serves as leader during shifts to oversee cooperation and the resolution of technical/quality problems and logistic issues.
• Ensures team members are well prepared to succeed in their work.
• Provides regular feedback and makes recommendations to supervisor regarding issues within the production lines including, organization, shifting priorities and possible critical issues.
• Assists supervisor in staff movement in case of vacations, illness, machine outages, or shifting priorities.
• Reinforces focus on volume, efficiency, and on-time delivery.
• Responsible for pulling inventory, moving stocks, storing materials, inventory control and managing of material location.
• Oversees material counts/location in coordination with storekeeper, ensuring correct inventory.
• Maintains receipts and issues of the raw material and manufactured components.
• Ensures quality operation of the process, performs quality checks and controls, including adherence to cleaning and maintenance.
• Must maintain pre-determined efficiency, standards, and productivity rates.
• Ensures shift change is completed and forms are filled out with accurate and appropriate information.

Your background

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
• Previous experience in physically demanding work in factory environment preferred.
• Can work up to 20 hours of overtime to meet Business Objectives
• Can work a weekend schedule
• Trained in Inventory management system – LX.
• Knowledge of SAP
• Ability to speak and write in clear English communications.
• Able to work with minimal supervision.
• Bend, twist & turn in a safe manner.
• Lift up to 40 Pounds
• Stand for long periods
