As an Application Engineer - Motors for Motion Services (MOSE), you will be a dedicated service sales support person, supporting multiple regions and ensuring factory supported information is used for our Motor Service Portfolio offerings.
This role can be located in Arkansas, Kentucky, Michigan or Wisconsin.
This position reports to
Manager, Inside Sales
Your responsibilities
  • Prepare service specifications, using ABB tools and related documents in accordance with the project requirements, established formats and general instructions
  • Review/approve factory product drawings, both from ABB factories and Third party suppliers
  • Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents and reports to provide support to sales team offering complex service solutions
  • Communicate contract details in accordance with ABB offerings and strategy, and manage associated administrative sales processes
  • Establish long term customer relationships, providing support and demonstrating in depth technical knowledge of products and solutions
  • Prepare and review sales plans and proposing service solutions for extended maintenance agreements
  • Work with the Motion Services management team to develop consistent services across all regions that can be implemented by the delivery team
  • Work with our sales managers, project managers and project coordinators to develop and manage our customers’ maintenance programs utilizing OneCare and Modernization
  • Actively promote ABB’s service products and solutions in marketing activities (example, trade fairs and customer meetings) while monitoring trends to develop effective marketing activities
Your background
  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field required with minimum 5 years of experience with Synchronous Motors or related experience required
  • Travel required up to 50 percent
  • Preferred 3 years of experience as an application engineer customer support role, preferably with medium or high voltage products in key focus industries
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications
  • Track record of strong technical competency
  • Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US
