Position Overview: We’re hiring a Senior Network Infrastructure Specialist to support an IT Service Management effort for USTRANSCOM at Scott Air Force Base located near O’Fallon, IL. This position is critical to support the USTC Command, Control, Communications & Cyber Systems Directorate. 

Location: On-site at Scott Air Force Base

Position Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering, design, implementation, and maintenance tasks on the networking environment.
• Assist with peer reviews on networking maintenances, projects, and initiatives.
• Identify, review, and recommend security postures to peers and appropriate security teams.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex network problems.
• Install hardware such as routers, firewalls, wireless, and switches.
• Apply knowledge of enterprise system monitoring and management tools (Solar Winds, WireShark, etc.) to analyze network activity and problems.
• Configure network capabilities on SolarWinds using NPM and SNMP.
• Configure devices such as Cisco ASA's, Firepower, and Cisco routers and switches.
• Operate, maintain, and manage both secure and non-secure wireless communication infrastructure equipment, network connectivity and service.
• Install and maintain the network transport medium (i.e., fiber, wireless, copper) to include user access drops at the desk location.

Requirements

 Experience, Education and Certification Requirements:

•  BA/BS in relevant field and 10 years of experience, additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
• Active DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (Security CE, CCNA-Security, CySA **, GICSP, GSEC, CND, SSCP). CCNA preferred. 
• Computing Environment (CE) certification or certificate for the technical area of responsibility in either Network support/defense (e.g., Splunk, Cisco, McAfee, etc.) OR (e.g., Microsoft, Linux, Solaris, etc.)
• Experience installing and maintaining networks in a DoD environment which adhere to security requirements. 
• Technical expertise in common routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), IPv6, VPN, etc. across a global WAN backbones and distributed datacenter platforms. 
• Knowledge and experience with BMC Remedy.
• Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation.
• Experience with MS Office to include Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Excel.
• Ability to manage multiple, high, & competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Self- starter and problem solver.
• Ability to communicate IT, networking, and security concepts to personnel at all levels of experience and responsibility.

 Security Qualifications: 

• Active Secret security clearance issued by the Department of Defense
