Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Spartanburg, SC (with potential travel to Oshkosh, WI - less than 5%)
Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension and conversion to permanent
Candidate must work on a W2 basis.
Job Highlights:
Design functional, reliable, and cost-effective heavy-duty vehicle components
Conduct engineering analysis, design, and development tasks for existing and new vehicles
Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure project success
Mentor entry-level engineers, designers, and technicians
Maintain effective communication with stakeholders to address technical issues
Your Impact:
Perform engineering calculations, investigations, and tasks according to industry standards
Support senior engineers in project planning, design, and reporting
Evaluate designs for performance, safety, and reliability
Prepare technical documentation, proposals, and presentations
Utilize analytical approaches to optimize designs and system performance
Resolve engineering issues and communicate status updates
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field
3 years of related experience
Standout Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering degree preferred
Knowledge of automotive or heavy-vehicle equipment and systems
Experience with CAD systems (preferably Windchill and CATIA)
